From May to July 2008 the first large-scale exhibition in China of works by Gerhard Richter will be taking place at NAMOC. This retrospective will demonstrate the many stylistic phases and different themes in the work of the artist, placing them in relation to one another and enabling a multi-faceted dialogue to take place among them. Gerhard Richter himself has selected the exhibits and designed the rooms for the exhibition. His works have had a remarkable influence on the young generation of Chinese artists.
This exhibition is a joint project of the Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden, the Collection Frieder Burda and the Collection Georg Bockmann in cooperation with the Bayerische Staatsgemaldesammlungen, Munich and the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, and NAMOC.
